Consumer Health Data
How we handle sensitive health information you provide for a case review.
Last updated September 30, 2026
This policy explains how Knight Law Group, LLP, doing business as Online Addiction Lawyer, handles information about possible physical or mental health harms that you are authorized to provide for yourself as an adult, for your child as their parent or legal guardian, for another adult family member, or about a loved one who has died. It covers the information provided for a legal case review. We apply the practices described here to inquiries from across the United States; additional rights and requirements depend on applicable law.
What counts as consumer health data here
- A diagnosis such as depression, anxiety, an eating disorder or body dysmorphia
- Self-harm, suicidal thoughts, a suicide attempt, or the death of a child
- Sleep problems serious enough to require care
- Sextortion, grooming or sexual exploitation, and any resulting harm
- Whether a doctor, therapist or counselor diagnosed or treated the person
- Anything else you tell us about a person’s physical or mental health in connection with a possible claim
How we collect it
Only from you, and only when you choose to tell us: through the case review form, by phone, or by email. We do not buy health data, we do not obtain it from data brokers, and we do not infer it from your browsing.
Why we collect it
We use the health information you provide to evaluate and manage your request for a legal case review and, if engaged, to pursue the claim. We also handle it as necessary to meet applicable legal and professional obligations.
What we never do with it
- We do not sell consumer health data. We do not accept payment or anything of value in exchange for it.
- We do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we do not build audiences from it.
- We do not place advertising or social media tracking tags on the pages where you enter it.
- We do not use geofencing around any health care facility, and we do not track your location.
Who can see it
Access is limited to authorized personnel handling intake and your potential matter, and service providers as needed to host the website, store and manage inquiries, and deliver communications. Before sharing information with another law firm for a possible referral, we request specific written authorization identifying the receiving firm, the purpose and the information to be shared. Information may also be disclosed to courts or opposing parties as required to handle a matter, or to authorities where legally required, subject to applicable privileges.
Your rights
- Know and access. Ask us what consumer health data we hold about you and get a copy, including a list of anyone we shared it with.
- Delete. Ask us to delete it. We will delete it from our active systems and instruct our service providers to do the same.
- Withdraw consent. Withdraw your consent to our collection and use of it at any time.
Some records must be kept where a professional obligation or a legal requirement applies, for example the conflicts record showing that you contacted us. If that is the case we will tell you exactly what is retained and why.
To exercise a right, email privacy@onlineaddictionlawyer.com or call (424) 239-1054. We respond within the time your state’s law requires, and within 45 days where no shorter period applies. If we decline a request you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will review it and explain the outcome in writing.
A note on what to send
Please do not send medical records, photographs, images of a minor, or account credentials through this website. Tell us what happened in your own words. If we take the case, we collect records properly, with your written authorization.
